What makes an ascot an Ivy Ascot?

A certain kind of pattern sensibility. Prints that are smaller, subtler, and more reserved. Patterns that would work just as well on a strict tie paired with a blue university stripe and a navy blazer as they do on a relaxed ascot paired with a white poplin and tweed. Small paisleys, ancient madder, little medallions. Navy, olive, burgundy, and pink. There is a certain kind of sartorial ethos to Ivy Style.
